Semestering:

Our new semester timetable is simple compared to the past.  We believe this will benefit Grand River students in many ways: less courses to focus on at a time, less confusion over daily schedules, a fresh start in February, alignment with most schools in Ontario will allow transfer, etc.  To see what the timetable will look like, click here.

Please note:  This system will amplify the effects of absences from school.  For example, every five days missed equates to 375 minutes missed PER CLASS.  In our current model this would only be 180 minutes.  Attendance is more important than ever!  Please have a conversation with your son/daughter to emphasize this point.

Document of Absence:

For those times your son/daughter is away, we are eliminating the document of absence.  Our new system will help ensure students spend less time waiting in the office and more time in class.  To report your son's or daughter's absence, please call our attendance line at 519 576-5100 (extension #1 if their last name begins with A-K or extension #2 if their last name begins with L-Z).  We will also accept a note explaining the absence.  If you would like to see next year's academic calendar, click here.

Timetable Pickup:

You may pick up your timetable early this year!   Please bring your updated Student Data Verification Form (DVF) along with any textbooks owing on either August 26th, 27th, 30th or 31st between 8:30 and 3:00.  Your signed DVF and any owing textbooks will be exchanged for a timetable.  

If changes to your timetable are necessary, please come to the Guidance Office and sign up for an appointment.  These appointments will be set on August 30th, 31st, and September 1st.  

Gym Floor:

We are proud to announce a completely new main gym and a refinished small gym floor.  The floors are gorgeous and our student athletes will notice the difference immediately!
